The Micajah Dark Family Photograph Album.  Last night (September 13, 2009), Richard Sunderwirth and Jo Mohr presented the society with a family album donated by Kathy Smith.  The album is beautiful and even has its own stand!  And, the photographs inside are incredible!  Visitors to the museum will not be able to remove the photographs.  However, a cd of the photographs and a list of the inscriptions on the back of the photographs will be available.  The photographs have also been reproduced in a book format by Victoria Lynn Walker Leavy.  The author, a descendant of Micajah Dark living in Hawaii, has included even more photographs of the family.  Mr. Sunderwirth has an advance copy of this book.

The Lewis Family Piano.  The square grand piano was deeded to the museum by the Lewis Family in August 2009. The piano was played during the New Harmonies exhibit by several local artists. The music ranged from War Between The States era to classical.

Dr. Ruth Seever's X-ray Machine.  This item has been stored elsewhere and recently made it to the museum.  So, look for it the next time you visit the museum. An interview made with Dr. Ruth on cassette tape has been remastered.

Come here her own voice telling her story in the Dr. Ruth section of the museum.

Three Display Cases.  Donated by the Maggard Family.

Cauthon Family Papers.  Mrs. Grace Bausch recently donated her personal research on the Cauthon  family.  Her research includes information on other St. Clair County families and research from Missouri, Kentucky, England, etc.  I am currently cataloging and organizing the papers which will be available for viewing in the Spring.  We would also like to thank her for make a sizeable donation to do this work.

Micajah Dark was one of my maternal great, great-grandfather.  Is the cd of the photos/inscriptions available yet?
